RLIF annual report focuses on global growth
The governing body of International Rugby League, the RLIF, has released its first ever annual report detailing the organisation’s business, strategic and financial development during the past 12 months.
RLIF Chairman Scott Carter said: “It has been a significant year for the development of Rugby League around the globe and the sport is well placed to build on the momentum we have built up.
RLIF activities in the past 12 months have concentrated on governance issues, including a further revision of the Constitution and the establishment of board sub-committees.
“The Board has been focused on modernising the RLIF to bring it into line with other leading international sporting bodies, ensuring that sound commercial arrangements and planning exists around Rugby League World Cup 2013 and beginning to address a number of longstanding issues such as player eligibility, international competition and rules.
“I would like to congratulate Lebanon and Serbia Rugby League Federations on becoming the newest full member nations and look forward to them playing increasingly important roles in the sport’s growth.
“I would also like to pay tribute to the late Hervé Guiraud for his contribution to Rugby League in France and to the Rugby League International Federation.”
